COIMBRA was established in 1980 in port of Santos-Brazil, starting as a crane service company, in order to assist the demand of technical assistance to the ships built in Brazil during the 70`s and beginning of 80´s, a booming period when Brazil reached the top rank as the 2nd biggest shipbuilding country in the world. Most of those ships were equipped with Liebherr cranes, the first brand and expertise developed by COIMBRA

Always oriented to innovation and conquering new partners, expanding and training for new crane brands, COIMBRA has grown to a leading crane, electronics & hydraulics repair and service provider, accredited both locally and abroad.

The ship owners and clients satisfied with results of prompt quality-works for the fastest solution of crane problems, demanded COIMBRA to extend its range of operation to all the other repairs needed, and later, serving the industrial and port terminals, COIMBRA was converted to a general maintenance and ship repair company.

The goals were always achieved by COIMBRA joining efforts of business management oriented to attend the client needs, allied with the valuable dedication of a high qualified team of professionals, always providing their best even to unique problems implementing the best available and safe solution for each challenging case.

Always reverting good results into equity, COIMBRA keeps on expanding and improving its workshop facilities and investing increasingly in training programs to its team, now maturing its quality management system, have conquered recently the ISO 9001:2000 certification under RINA for the two initial processes of the general quality plan. There it goes, always assuming continuous improvement and based on the firm initial policy to achieve excellence in providing services to the clients.
